Support
Ridge Area Arc is a local asset that provides a real economic benefit to our community. By training and educating individuals to reach their capabilities, this better enables each person to be more independent and thus contribute to his or her own life plan. The adults and families that benefit from the programs enrich our community and learn to lead happier and more fulfilled lives.
Arc relies on support from caring individuals, private foundations, and corporations to supplement the funding from The Agency for Persons with Disabilities, Highlands County Commission, Highlands County School Board, and the United Way of Central Florida.

Volunteering
Ridge Area Arc in Avon Park needs caring people who would like to donate some of their time to enrich the lives of others. Day time volunteers are needed to help at the Resale Store in Avon Park, teach or assist with a project in the Art Class, tutor or assist in the Computer Class, and tutors are needed in basic reading.
Late afternoon and early evening volunteers are needed to share their favorite craft or game at one of the six group homes. Group homes have from six to eight residents and are located in Avon Park and Sebring.
We invite you to join the Arc family and share your time and knowledge with others. Volunteers are special people and you can make a difference. For more information call Linda McClellan at 863-452-1295, ext. 110.
